Yesterday, I was invited to visit the newly-opened SaladStop! branch at Oakridge Business Park to try out a Cebu-exclusive offering. Hitting two birds in one visit, so I said yes!
SaladStop!, the leading salad bar chain in Asia and the go-to destination for healthy eating in Cebu, opened their 15th branch in the country and 2nd in Cebu at the Oakridge Business Park last April 23, 2019.
Since it launched in Singapore in 2009, SaladStop! has served a variety of farm-fresh salads and wraps with premium toppings and dressings as the healthy alternative to fast food. Their “Eat Wide Awake” movement emphasizes the importance of proper nutrition and diet in keeping with the global shift towards a healthier lifestyle. They are committed to sourcing the best possible ingredients and develop them into nutritious and delicious recipes to continuously elevate the SaladStop! experience.
I first got to try SaladStop! at their Alabang Town Center branch, and wondered if such a concept would click in Cebu. Months after, they opened their first Cebu branch at Ayala Center Cebu, and it’s always filled everytime I pass by.
Diners have the option to create their own salad or wrap with over 50 fresh toppings and 18 home-made dressings, or order from their Signature or Classic selections. Other quick and delicious menu items are also available from hearty warm grain bowls , pastries, and all-natural fruit smoothies as they push an end to a “pre-made culture” and start a movement that aspires for a more health-conscious generation.
During our visit, I and other online personalities in Cebu got first dibs on a Cebu-exclusive salad and wrap – Bring It ‘Chon!. A first outside Manila, the seasonal menu item is made with romaine lettuce, quinoa, lechon (without the fat, of course!), turnip, cherry tomatoes, ripe mango, pickled green papaya, fried garlic and Mango Cilantro dressing, giving customers a taste of the best Cebuano flavors in the healthiest way possible. It is available in both salad and wrap versions.
The “Bring It ‘Chon” wrap (or salad) is best paired with the Aloha Burst, an all-natural smoothie featuring pineapple, banana, carrot, yoghurt, honey and chia seeds and end the meal with the Choco Banana Cookie , SaladStop!’s new eggless cookie with dark chocolate chips.
SaladStop! Oakridge is located at Oak Tree Drive 2 and is open from 10am to 9pm daily. It opened its first store outside of Manila in July 2017, at Level 4, Ayala Center Cebu.
